Girls Night Out!
Women's Gun Classes in Massachusetts
Cape Gun Works has a vast suite of gun classes for women. They're all at our climate-controlled facility in Hyannis, making us one of the most popular sites for gun enthusiasts across eastern Massachusetts. Safety education is the most important aspect of gun ownership, which is why we offer so many of these classes.
Our recommended class order starts with a basic firearm safety course and a set of classes that help you get comfortable and find the perfect firearm for you. If you're interested in booking a private firearm fitting, this is a great time to get that taken care of. Later courses include introductions to defensive firearm use and holster drawing. Later on, if you're interested in taking a deeper dive into any specific topic, you can look at the other courses we offer or book a private lesson at our gun range.
Principles of Firearms Safety
Safety is every gun owner's business, and at Cape Gun Works, we advocate for responsible gun ownership in every regard. This is one of the cornerstones of the courses we offer and one of the first things we cover in all of our courses for beginners.
The primary rule of handling any firearm is always to know where the gun is pointed, even if you're moving. Never point a gun at something you don't want to destroy. Always assume that any gun you handle is loaded, making sure to check the magazine and the chamber as well as the register. Keep your finger off the trigger until you're fully prepared to shoot.
